Etoscha wird 100 Jahre alt

Am 22. März 1907 hatte der damalige Gouverneur der deutschen Kolonialzeit von Lindequist das Gebiet um die Etoschapfanne als Naturschutzgebiet erklärt. Das Umwelt-und Tourismusministerium will das hundertjährige Jubiläum im März 2007 und das ganze Jahr hindurch gebührend feiern. Das Ministerium ruft zu einem Logo-Wettbewerb auf. Der beste Etnwruf für das Jubiläum wird mit N$ 6,000 belohnt. Einsendeschluss ist der 4. Etosha National Park 100 years old in 2007

Namibia’s most famous nature park, the Etosha National Park will turn one hundred years old on 22 March 2007. The ministry of environment and tourism (MET) intends to celebrate this occasion throughout next year. The Etosha Centenary will focus on achievements over the past 100 years and raise awareness on conservation. Specila invesntivs for tourists are also planned. The MET is calling for a logo desing competition. Entries must be submitted by 4 July.
