The mayor of Swakopmund, Rosina Hoebes, and the Swakopmund CEO, Mr Eckhardt Demasius were also invited to attend the meeting on Friday morning together with the bosses of NamWater and Erongo Red.- On Thursday evening, the ministry arranged a meeting with Karibib residents at the community hall to give the Karibib community a chance to air their grievances about the situation, according to Frans Nghitila, spokesperson in the ministry. The permanent secretary, Erastus Negonga will chair the meetings. Minister John Pandeni is currently in the DRC as head of the SADC observer mission for the coming elections in that country.

Complaints about uncollected refuse, bad service and the deteriorating state of the town, which is an important tourism stop over have led to recent protests and emergency meetings last week.
