Generous support for Book on Fritz Krampe Saturday 15th of July 2006
The launch of a book on the wellknown artist Fritz Krampe was well attended at the Namibia Scientific Society last week. Krampe came to Namibia in the early Fifties and painted large paintings in expressionistic style. After 15 years in Africa he traveledd to India and was killed by an elephant there. Author Peter Strack, himself an architect and artist, collected information on Krampe’s life over 24 years now presented in this beautiful book ,,Zeitlose Begegnungen - Fritz Krampe, ein Malerleben in Namibia". Generous donations by art lovers made the publication possible. The photos shows Mrs Merryl Barry, daughter of Mr Harald Pupkewitz, who also made a donation, receive a copy from Peter Strack at the book launch. An English translation of the book is on the way and is made possible through a large donation by First National Bank. Photo: Brigitte Weidlich |
