Deputy Prime Minister Dr Libertine Amathila (photo) launched the AIDS training programmes at the workplace in the civil service, developed by the Polytechnic and Erongo Agencies on Wednesday. The aim is to have regional Aids coordinating comittees in every ministry and at every regional council of the 13 regions. A core group of governemnt officials get trained in AIDS awareness and prevention, who are to make the civil service aware on the consequences of AIDS. The programme is supported by the European union.
