Fistball-Ladies: WORLD CUP & WORLD CHAMPION SHIP

Once again is the Fistball Association of Namibia of the forefront to make history in sending for the first time a National ladies team overseas to participate at the World Cham-pionships, to be held in Switzerland.

The National ladies team will fly out to Europe on Wednesday, the 19th of July, to Germany to also take part at the team World Cup in Ahlhorn and to play against the Club Champions form South America and against the European Club Champions from Germany.

Thereafter will the team travel to Switzerland to take part at the Woman’s World Championships from the 27th July till the 30th July.

Namibia will play in Group A against World Champions Switzerland, Japan, Austria and Argentina. In Group B the teams of Germany, Chile, Brazil and Italy are against each other. Namibia’s gaol is to win against Japan and Argentina to reach the play-offs for the game for 5th overall spot.

The following players have been selected:

Andrea Beiter (Captain) - defence 3 international caps

Anke Baas - setter 3 international caps

Didi Foerster-spiker 3 international caps

Kerstin Kempcke - defence

Vera Schatz -defence

Charmain Shannon - defence

Coach will be Stefan Groegli, Swiss International and Team manager Michael Baas.
