Friday 11th of August 2006 The Ministry of Mines and Energy warden Namibians that fuel prices would increase later this month due to high crude oil prices resulting form the Israeli-Lebanese war and the Iran crisis. Adding to woes were the unrests in the areas where oil was produced in Nigeria and that a major oil pipeline will be closed for several weeks due to repair work. The Ministry warned that petrol went up in South Africa this month by about 30 cents and that Namibians must also prepare for another fuel increase. Unleaded petrol now costs R7.04 in South Africa. Crude oil cost about US$ 78 per barrel this week. |
