The Ministry of Foreign Afairs informed the public this week that following consultations with the Namibian High Commission in the United Kingdom and stakeholders in the airline industry, that the advisory which was issued last Friday afternoon, advising travelers not to use or transit through airports in the United Kingdom, was lifted again. The authorities in the United Kingdom have downgraded the security threat level from critical to severe and have also relaxed restrictions on traveling with hand luggage.

The Ministry was further assured that Air Namibia was not affected by the threat and was in full operation from Gatwick Airport.

Travelers are, however, advised to adhere to restrictions imposed by airlines and by authorities in the United Kingdom to avoid delays in queues at airports.
