President Hifikepunye Pohamba is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Heroes Day commemmoration at Katima Mulilo (Caprivi Region) on Sunday, 26 August 2006. The commemmoration will take place at the Katima Mulilo Sport Complex and the Minister of Works, Transport and Communication, Hon. Joël Kaapanda and Deputy Minister of defence, Hon. Victor Simunja will act as Directors of Ceremonies. Regional Governor Bernard Sivalatani will deliver the welcoming remarks, while the Vote of Thanks will be done by His Worship the Mayor, Councillor John Likando.

The Namibia Defence Force will do a march pass, while several cultural groups, including the Ndilimani Cultural Troupe will also perform.
