ak. The Daan Viljoen nature park 20 kilometres west of Windhoek has experienced an enormous increase in the number of animals as well as in the diversity of species. During the last years hardly anything else than Gnu could be found in the nature park, which lead to a decrease of visitors. Lately, big herds of Hartebeest, some Kudu and Oryx, but also numerous sorts of birds will be found in Daan Viljoen Park. Watching wild animals and birds has highest prospect of success early in the morning or in the afternoon, when the animals search for water at the water dams. At the moment the two big water reservoirs in the nature park are relatively full of water, because of the good rainy season in March and April. Seldom during the last years, the second big water dam in the Daan Viljoen Park, was so full of water. A lot of animals, especially water birds can be watched there. |
