At its monthly meeting at the end of May, the Swakopmund Town Council approved the re-development of the Mole area by Ohlthaver & List. This plan includes a multi-million dollar investment, i.a. in a four star hotel with 120 rooms. In a feedback report O&L stated that 87 respondents were in favour of the development, while only three were against the plans. The new hotel would create 70 new permanent jobs.
