Founded in 1924 with clearing and forwarding as its core activities Manica Group Namibia has, through joint ventures, acquisitions and innovative management during the last 80 + years, evolved into a dynamic and diversified group of companies. Focusing mainly on the economic activities in freight and fishing. The Group consists of various subsidiaries, which specialize in areas such as shipping agencies, customs broking, stevedoring, logistical services and offshore oil industry shore-base facilities. The company is headquar-tered in Walvis Bay with branches in Windhoek as well as Lüderitz. One of Manica’s coveted 6 core values is EXCELLENCE, this is manifested in the way we operate and in almost everything we do. We always encourage our people to constantly strive for improvement and give their achievable best, not only to satisfy but also to exceed our esteemed clients and stakeholders requirements and expectations. It is therefore, in the same spirit, as approached by the local schools for sponsorships towards successfully holding their annual prize giving to excellent and above average achieving learners, we decided to heed their call in our small but humble way. We feel it is a distinct honour to be associated with these efforts, whereby schools encourage and motivate their learners and their peers by recognizing excellent performance through awarding students annually with prizes for such great achievements. Concentrating on the Erongo region this year, an amount of N$1 500 was handed over to each of the following schools by our General Manager of Corporate Public Relations & Marketing, Mr. Shalli Ben-Elungu: Tutaleni Primary School, (Walvis Bay) Kuisebmond Secondary School, (Walvis Bay) and Atlantic Junior Secondary School, (Swakopmund) The hand-over ceremony took place on Thursday, 21 September 2006, at 11:30 at the Manica Group Namibia Head Office, No. 2, 3rd Street in Walvis Bay.
