The Indoor hockey league finished at the end of last month and our four ladies sides achieved the following positions respectively:

Ladies Premier - Winners of league Ladies First - 4th Ladies Second - 5th

Ladies Third (Smarties) - 7th Prizes received by Ramblers players from the Hockey Union were as follows:

Most consistent player in the Premier League Silke Pennefather Best attacker in the Seond League Janine Jansen

Most disciplined team of ALL in the various leagues Ramblers Smarties Congratulations to all of you on these outstanding results!!

The Ramblers hockey prizegiving will be held on 28 June 2003 in the club house.

Another piece of exciting news is that Anke Haensel was elected as the Hockey Union’s new Vice-President. Well done, Anke!!

The field hockey league started last weekend and Ramblers will enter one ladies and men team each in the premier and first divisions. This means that after four years Ramblers hockey has succeeded in fielding two men’s teams again!

2 RAMBLERS STRIDERS

A 21 km walk race was held in Swakopmund last weekend and the participation was dominated by Ramblers Striders. Sonja van Wyk and Ronelle Swart obtained second position in the veteran and open ladies divisions respectively. Beatrix Tripodi won the masters division. Well done, ladies!

Just a reminder that on Friday, 13 June the official launch of the Ramblers striders will take place at the club house. Fun runs will be organised whereby the other subsections of Ramblers will be challenged and prizes can be won.

3 SOCIAL SOCCER LEAGUE

Our side lost their league game to Cymot 1:2 last Tuesday night. Although going into the lead after fifteen minutes our juvenile side eventually gave in to the pressure applied by the more experienced Cymot side. Nevertheless, a very fine performance by the entire side! This Friday we are playing against Swabou at home at 19H00.

4 LADIES SOCCER

One side has been entered in the Khomas Women Football League that will start on 21 June. Coach Joachim Duwe is currently hard at work in getting the ladies match fit. With the introduction of the ladies side, Ramblers Soccer currently boasts with four active teams!
