While Cabinet approved a bulk water increase of 12% by NamWater, Windhoek residents will hear by the end of this month, how much they have to pay for water. Electricity goes up by 14% from 1 July and according to a source in the Electricity Control Board, bulk power increases will continue to rise by 14% annually for the next four years, due to an overall increase by the South African power utility, Eskom. According to Nampower, Eskom will run out of capacity to export power by 2007.
