Thursday 19th of June 2003 The Namibian economy showed a growth of 2.3 percent during 2002, according to preliminary statistics for the year 2002 disclosed by the National Planning Commission. The manufacturing sector increased by 7.1%, but fish processing declined by 19.6 percent. This could mainly be attributed to the zero pilchard quota for last year.
