Mr Friedrich Schröter, who was instrumental in raising funds for the restauration of Swakopmund’s famous landmark, the “Martin Luther”, last week paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Swakopmund. Schröter, whose family in olden days built engines like the “Martin Luther”, handed a small model of the locomobile to the Mayor. Here he is seen with Eckhard Mueller (NIMT), who in Schröters words “did a marvellous job in rebuilding the machine, which now looks almost better than the original”.
