One of the priority areas of German development cooperation is the support to the land and water management. As far as land reform and land management is concerned, German development cooperation contributes to improved access to land and its sustainable use. Germany provides assistance to build up capacity and assists the Land Boards, e.g. through the German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GTZ). Activities include an operational manual and
the training of a large number of Land Board members and support staff in workshops and seminars. Equipment is being provided which includes computer and office equipment as well as field equipment such as measuring wheels and GPS systems. Within the framework of this programme, 4 vehicles (Nissan Double Cabs) were donated to the Ministry of Lands and Resettlement. The vehicles will officially be handed over by Ambassador Arne Freiherr von Kittlitz and Ottendorf to the Honourable Minister Jerry Ekandjo on Tuesday.
