V.I.P. DRAW
This week’s jackpot stands at N$ 750 as nobody was in February present during the four draws. In order to claim your prize, you have to be tonight at 19h00 at the clubhouse.
OLD BOYS SOCCER
The 5-a side tournament held two weeks ago on the Ramblers was a huge success and will be now an annual event to kick-off the Old Boys soccer season. Fourteen teams partici-pated,amongst others Otavi from the north, SFC and Atlantis from the coast and various Windhoek teams. The „OTB Sport“ trophy of the under 40 section was won after a penalty shoot-out by SKW,after the final versus Ramblers was 1 – 1 after normal time. The „Manuel Coelho“ trophy in the „Masters“ section (over 40) was won by SKW. Congratulations to the „green and whites“ of Olympia. The hightlight was the match of the over 50’s (up to 65?) between Ramblers and SKW,which ended in a draw. A very special „Thank you“ to all the Old Boys ( and their young ladies) for their assistance, who made this event a success.
PREMIER LEAGUE
Our Premier League side ended the first round of the NPL in fourth place, three points adrift of log-leaders Civics. Last week we played the first round in the MTC NFA Cup and beat Friends 4 – 2, goals scored by Samson John (2) and Ninja Karongee and Victor Helu. This Saturday we play in the second round against FC Invincible in Keetmanshoop. To Tollie, Dave and the team, all the best and do not underestimate your opponents because they play in the second league! Have a save trip.
TOP SCORE 7-a SIDE
The fifth round of the annual 7-a side league will be played this Friday. Our own Likius Hafeni, playing for the first team, took over the administration from Jo Duwe and he is doing an absolute brilliant job with the valuable support of amongst others Mark and Lorenz. Well done, guys.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
We will start a coaching clinic for scholars from the age of 8 years as from 10 March 2007. The training session will start at 10h00 and ends at around 12h00. Members and non-members are welcome but should bring their own soccer ball along. The training falls under the auspices of Uwe Wolff. For any further queries please call Ralf on 081-1222347 after 17h00. Please note that this iniative  runs on a trial period and will hopefully be a success.
Our next newsletter will be on 16 March 2007.
