The Managing Director of Legal Shield Holdings and its subsidiaries, Stanley Katzao, was suspended on 24 November 2006 pending an investigation into allegations of corruption. He was also removed as a director of all the boards on which he served at the time. Subsequently charges of misconduct based on allegations of corruption concerning a certain business dealing he negotiated on behalf of the company was brought against him and disciplinary proceedings was instituted. A copy of the charge sheet is enclosed and speaks for itself. These allegations related to a time prior to his initial appointment as a Director.
The disciplinary hearing regarding the allegations was set for 14 December 2006, both parties mutually agreeing, to Mr. Hosea Angula as Chairperson. The hearing was postponed at the request of Mr Katzao’s legal representative to the 16th of January 2007. The disciplinary hearing commenced on the 16th of January 2007 and was thereafter postponed to the 17th of February 2007, after some evidence had been led.
Between 16 January 2007 and 17 February 2007 further evidence was received which led to an additional charge being added to the first charge sheet, a copy of that charge sheet also containing allegations of corruption is enclosed. These allegations like wise relate to a time prior to his appointment as a director.
