V.I.P. DRAW
This week’s jackpot stands at N$ 300. Barbara Dekant claimed a fortnight ago the jackpot of N$ 750. Last week Chantal Poultney was not there to claim the N$ 150. Our 5th V.I.P. draw will be held on Saturday 31 March 2007. We will have in addition to our usual prizes of N$ 1.000,N$ 2.000 resp. N$ 3.000 some other surprise prizes.
PREMIER LEAGUE
Our Premier League side had “lady luck” on their side when they beat FC Invincible in the second round in the MTC NFA Cup only on penalties after equalizing in the dying minutes of the match. We will now face Eleven Arrows in the quarterfinals to be played on the 31 March in Oshakati.
The second round of the NPL resumed last week and we played on our home grounds the two sides from the north. On Saturday we beat Golden Bees from Outjo 2 – 0 , goals scored by Likius Hafeni and Riaan Cloete. On Sunday we beat Oshakati City by a solitary goal scored by Kanalelo. Our team had to play for more than 70 minutes of the match with ten men only, after Riaan Cloete received a mysterious yellow-red card and received his marching orders. Compliments to Dave,Tollie and the whole team for the good performance over the weekend.
On Wednesday evening it was “derby” time when we played SKW on their home field in Olympia. The match ended in a goalless draw and we actually can see this as a “lost” match because if we would have capitalized on our chances, especially in the first half, Ramblers should have won the matches. This coming Sunday we play against African Stars, kick-off is 15h00 at the SKW field.
OLD BOYS
The coaching sessions of the Old Boys are well attended and the Old Boys League should kick off in April.
ARGUS CYCLE TOUR
Three of our members, namely Gunter Penzhorn and his wife Renate and Henning Tiemann participated in this years’ “Cape Argus Cycle Tour”. Gunter (you may call him Lance Jan !) finished the grueling 109 km’s in a time of 3 hours 19 minutes, Renate in 3 hours 49 minutes and Henning just under 4 hours. Well done and congratulations.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
We will eventually start our coaching clinic for scholars from the age of 8 years this coming Saturday (17 March 2007). The training session will start at 10h00 and ends at around 12h00. Members and non-members are welcome but should bring their own soccer ball along. The training falls under the auspices of Uwe Wolff. For any further queries please call Ralf on 081-1222347 after 17h00. Please note that this iniative  runs on a trial period and will hopefully be a success.
