Meatco received recognition this morning in four (4) categories at a packed breakfast awards event which recognizes top performing businesses in Namibia. This annual event is organized and funded by Professional Management Review (PMR) and is based on ratings by Namibian Businesses for Namibian Business.
The corporation scored the best overall ratings and received one gold award for an agricultural business doing most in its sector over the past 12 months (2006) to stimulate economic growth and development in the country. Meatco also received three (3) silver awards for:
· agricultural business dealing with livestock (rated 2nd in this category)
· food manufacturers/processors (rated 3rd in this category) and
· meat processing companies (rated 2nd in this category)
These awards are received during the week which Namibia and Meatco’s abattoirs are undergoing an European Union (EU) inspection which will determine the continuation of beef exports to the EU.
