State Visit by President Mwanawasa

Independence Celebration in Swakopmund
His Excellency Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, President of the Republic of Zambia is scheduled to pay a State Visit to Namibia from 20-24 March 2007. President Mwanawasa and his entourage are expected to arrive at the Hosea Kutako International Airport at 12h00 on 20 March for a four day State Visit. He will be the guest of the Namibian President Hifikepunye Pohamba at Namibia’s 17th independence celebration. The two Presidents will attend the celebration as the guests of the Erongo regional Governor in Swakopmund.
President Mwanawasa will address the Independence Rally on the occasion of the 17th Independence Anniversary at the Swakopmund Stadiumand at 15h30 Dr Theo Ben Gurirab, Speaker of National Assembly will pay an courtesy call on him at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.
On Thursday the Zambian President will visit Rössing Uranium Mine and Namport as well as the Pelican Hotel to enjoy lunch with the Erongo Business Community. A visit to Etale Fishing Company follows. And on Friday, Walvis Bay Salt and Chemicals (Pty) Ltd will be visited.. In Windhoek he lays a wreath at Heroes’ Acre.
