Friday 20th of June 2003 Namibia’s own luxury train, the Desert Express will feature prominently on the BBC-Food television series "Gourmet Girls". Namibian viewers should not miss to watch Episode 2, premiered worldwide on June 24 and called "Muffin on the Desert Express". The 3 female chefs, who hail from South Africa incidentally, take a trip on the Desert Express for a holiday. Their phone rings however and they must rush to Swakopmund to cook a lavish dinner for the Swakopmund mayor who is host to an official function. It is the first time the Namibian Desert Express will feature prominently in an international TV series, and it will put Namibia on the international tourism map. The broadcasting times on DSTV/Mnet programme on the BBC Food channel are as follows: The first episode of Gourmet Girls series, called Braai Another Day, started on 17 June. Our Namibian episode, called "Muffin on the Desert Express" will be broadcast as the second in the series on the following days (Namibian time) on DSTV’s BBC Food Channel: Tuesday, 24 June @ 18h00 - Premiere with Desert Express, repeats of the same episode are on Wednesday, 25 June @ 06h00 and 12h00, Thursday, 26 June @ 20h15, Friday, 27 June @ 08h15 and 14h15, Saturday, 28 June @ 19h00 and Sunday, 29 June @ 07h00 and 13h00.
