A new set of 3 stamps was lauchned by NamPost chief executive officer Hermanus Kasper early this month. They were designed by Namibian artist Helge Denker and depict scenes from the former Ovamboland. The first day cover that goes with the stamps gives a beautiful view of the Cuvelai drainaige system that feeds rural Ovamboland with water during the rainy seasons to form the oshanas. The Cuvelai system is fed by rains in south-central Angola and runs in a south-easterly direction towards the Omadhyia Lakes, the largest being Lake Oponono, just north of the Etosha National Park. In earlier times the Etosha Pan also revceived water from the Cuvelai system. Unfortunately, trunk roads running from East to West and many permanent

settlements in the past years have interrupted the natural water supply system of northern Namibia. Stamp collectors van buy the set of stamps at the philatelic shop of NamPost in the Levinson Arcade.
