Bank Windhoek contributes Funds towards MISA Namibia Media Awards Saturday 28th of April 2007 Bank Windhoek, during a press conference held in Windhoek on the 24 April 2007, confirmed its sponsorship of N$ 31 500 towards the MISA Namibia Media Awards. back The Bank is sponsoring the Business/Finance Journalism Award in the print category, as well as the Business/Finance Broadcasting Awards n the Broadcasting category. Head: Corporate Communication and Social Investigation at Bank Windhoek, Helene Badenhorst, says the Business/Finance Awards in the print and broadcasting will go to journalists that showed an extraordinary ability to cover business, corporate and financial news. Also speaking at the occasion, Chairman of the MISA Namibia National Governing Council, Christof Maletsky, thanked Bank Windhoek for the generous sponsorship, adding that there was a need to recognise the work done by Namibian journalists as they worked under difficult circumstances. “They face lay offs, job freezes, space reductions and travel curtailments. Yet they produce news items daily and we must honour them. This year’s awards will honour their use of energy, imagination and hard work under very trying circumstances”, he said. The press conference was also attended by the Head of Corporate Communication and Social Investment Ferdinand Tjombe, who is organizing the MISA Namibia Media Awards, as well as MISA Namibia Board Member, Gladwin Groenewaldt. The deadline for entries for the awards is 30 April 2007, while the main event is scheduled to take place on the 30 June 2007. |
