WEEKEND EXCURSION
Farm Niedersachsen
Saturday, 18 August till Sunday, 19 August 2007
the Namibia Scientific Society cordially invites you along with your family and friends to the weekend excursion to the Farm Niedersachsen.
Threatened with internment for the duration of World War II, two young German geologist, Henno Martin and Hermann Korn, sought refuge in the Namib Desert and lived a Robinson Crusoe existence for two and a half year. How they mastered their situation, what they did, thought and observed are subject of our excursion to Farm Niedersachsen.
The program is as follows:
Saturday, 18 August 2007
- Arrival on the Farm at 11h00 to meet up with the other participants.
- After a good lunch and tea, we will depart on the farm vehicle to the 2nd housing area of the two brave men.
- Dinner and get together.
Sunday, 19 August 2007
- After breakfast we will drive to the 3rd place of their then residence (we need to walk for approx. 20 Minutes). Thereafter we visit the 1st “house” and continue along the Gamsberg Pass towards home.

Arrival: on 18 August 2007 at 11h00
Departure: on 19 August 2007 round about lunch time
Min. participants: 6 persons
Max. participants: 12 persons
Cost: N$ 590.00 per person incl. lunch, coffee/tee in the afternoon, dinner, accommodation in a double room, breakfast, drive to the 2nd and 3rd residence
place. You would need to pay for your transport cost as well as N$ 40.00 for the fee of the National Park. We have done provisional bookings at the guest farm. Please contact our office for more details.
Please confirm your participation until the 31 July 2007. The payment must reach us until 01 August 2007. We unfortunately have to cancel this tour, if less than 6 people participate.
