Webb Ellis Rugby Trophy will visit Namibia

The Webb Ellis Trophy will visit Namibia for the first time in its history from Saturday 12 May to Monday 14 May. This major event will be an occasion to celebrate sport and culture in various places in Nami-bia. The benefit of these events will be granted to the World Food Program.

An official arrival of the cup in Namibia is organized :
Honourable John MUTORWA, Minister of Sports, Youth and Culture, Mr Dirk CONRADIE, President of the Namibia Rugby Union and HEM Philippe BOSSIERE, Ambassador of France accompanied by two children dressed in Namibian and French jersey will welcome the cup down the plane.
15:00 Charity game for the World Food Programme – Hage Geingob Stadium: Two Namibian selections made of Namibian internationals and school players. Before the game: short speeches by Dirk Conradie, Pt NRU, HEM Philippe Bossière, Ambassador of France & John Prout, coordinator of WFP in Namibia.
The Cup will stand in front of the speakers
At half time, the President of NRU will hand out a cheque representing the amount donated to the WFP
After the game, a special function with players and VIP will be held.

14:00 m     Charity at Jan Wilken stadium, Walvis Bay for the World Food Programme
Two selections made of players from the Walvis Bay rugby club, from the  Kudu Rugby Club and school players.
Before the game there will be short speeches
The Cup will stand in front of the speakers, in the center of the field and then will be kept in the official stand
At half time, the President of NRU will hand out a cheque representing the amount donated to the WFP (the entrance fees)

8:30 am    Parade in Windhoek
Itinerary : Independence Avenue
10:00 am    Presentation of the Cup to His Excellency Mr Hiphikepunye Pohmaba, President of the Republic of Namibia.
Venue : State House
14:00 pm    Exhibition of the cup for the general public   
Venue : Franco Namibian Cultural Centre
18:00pm    Official reception at the invitation of the French Ambassador to Namibia
Venue : FNCC
