Marvellous boost by MTC for Rugby Union

company MTC pledged N$ 6 million to the Namibia Rugby Union for a period of three years on Thursday. The rugby team of Namibia qualified for the Rugby World Cup in September in France At the official ceremony the General Manager: Commercial of MTC, Mr Christian Faure emphasised that he was delighted that MTC’s revised sponsorship strategy implemented some three years ago represented the culmination of the vision which required that MTC provides long-term sustainable support to a category sports code with a view to build capacity from the ground and then leading to the international stage.
It is the intention of MTC to rekindle the pride in Namibian rugby and they urge all spectators to support the team to trhe final stage of the World Cup.
Mr Christo Aleksander, on behalf of the Namibia Rugby Union thanked MTC for the generous sponsorship and said it was not surprising that Namibian Rugby saw this as the compelling opportunity to enter into a partnership with MTC to secure that Namibian rugby will always have its rightful position in the world of rugby. He further stressed that the NRU also cherished the thought that MTC saw in Namibian rugby the opportunity to invest in the people of Namibia.
The Rugby Union is delightred to have signed an agreement with MTC to be the premier sponsor of rugby for the next three years.In conclusion, he stressed to the players, who were attending, that the sponsorship they received from MTC is because of their potential and their ability to deliver at the international level and „you must show your dedication, hard work and commitment“.
Minister John Mutorwa congratulated and thanked MTC and the NRU for having successfully concluded the agreement ang again congratulated the NRU for the dedication and discipline they show. There was instability in rugby, „but today it is water under the bridge. Thank you for solving the problems“. He urged the players to have a very good conduct, as they are wearing the national colours during national duty. They should carry the Namibian flag very high and all those noble prin-ciples, values and virtues embodied in our national constitution,  coat of arms and the motto „Unity, Liberty,  Justice“
