Friday 27th of June 2003 In the National league A SKW 1 is still the team that sets the pace and remains the team to be beaten, and this team is now unbeaten for nearly one year. The experience, the strength in attack and the ability to make the big points, are the main factors for this teams success. Only Swakop were able to challenge the Champions when they won a set, in a game which lasted for over an hour. As strong as SKW 1 played, as bad was the performance by SKW 2, with 2 very heavy defeats and now at the bottom of the log with no win this season. Very positive was the performance by Cohen 1, playing only with 4 players due to some injury problems, winning both games. The National league B league heads for a very tight finish, with the surprise for the season, Cohen 4, still heading the log, but with their first defeat this Saturday. The next league games will determine the games for the play-offs, both Swakop 2 and Cohen 2 could still knock Swakop 1 out of the National league A play-offs, as only the first three teams will determine the first leagues winner, were the last three will play for the second leagues winner, and the last team will be relegated to the national league B. The first three team in national league B will play for the third league title, the winner will be promoted into the National league A, and here it seems very decided, as SKW 3 is already 6 points behind DTS 3. The Fistball Association is very pound to announce that we are only one of 8 countries, who are able to send a National under 18 boys team to the first ever under 18 Fistball World Championships, played in Italy form the 18 July till the 20 th July. The team is as follows:Michael Zimny ( SKW ), Stefan Zimny ( SKW ), Norbert Henkert ( SKW ), Martin Helm ( SKW ), Goetz Friedrich ( Cohen ), Stefan Kubirske ( Swakop ), Stefan Goldbeck ( Swakop ) and Dieter Tietz ( Swakop ). The Team manager will be Wolfgang Buettner and coached by Reinhard Kubirske. |
