A group of four instructors of Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate of Namibia earlier this year attended a three day karate seminar (Gasshuku) in South Africa to hone their skills and to ensure their students in Nami-bia keep on receiving top instruction in this well-known martial art. The Namibian Instructors who attended were:  Sensei Carl van der Merwe, Chief Instructor of Namibia, Sensei Marion Bause, Sensei Karin Brockmann and Sensei Nico Maritz of Walvis Bay.
The seminar was presented by Sensei Bakkies Laubscher, 8th Dan Chief Instructor for Africa, who is a sought-after international karate instructor.
The seminar was focused on improving the teaching skills of instructors as well as the technical correctness of techniques.
The instructors came back highly motivated to share their increased knowledge with their students.
