Sunday 20th of May 2007 The SKW Volleyball Club has introduced Mini Volleyball this year in Namibia and has received excellent response from participants. At the moment the club accommodates about 25 kids age 8 to 12 at its Mini-Volley training every Thursday evening. Mini Volleyball is a simplified form of Volleyball used to introduce the sport to young children and develop their ball sense and some Volleyball specific skills. To further promote and develop Mini Volleyball in Namibia, the SKW Volleyball Club has invited Mr Zohair Ammar, an internationally qualified coach, to Namibia. He will present two Mini-Volley Camps of 4 days each (17 – 20 May & 21 – 24 May). Mr Ammar will be supported by SKW Volleyball Club members as Assistant coaches. The SKW Volleyball club will also invite other Volleyball coaches and school teachers to attend the camps as a coaching clinic. They can then introduce Mini Volleyball at their clubs and schools. Participants will also be limited to 20 kids per camp. This will allow for a coach to player ratio of at least 1 to 5. With this we assure that each participant gets a lot of personal attention during exercises. Participants will be charged a minimal fee of N$150 for the 4 day camp. Alexander Forbes confirms its support to the development of sport and specifically Volleyball, as the main sponsor of the Mini-Volleyball Training Camps organised by the SKW Volleyball Club. The SKW Volleyball Club has invited Mr Zohair Ammar, an internationally qualified coach from Egypt to coach Namibia’s young Volleyball talents. Two Alexander Forbes Mini-Volleyball Camps will be held with Mr Ammar in the SKW Hall in Windhoek. The first camp takes place from 17 to 20 May and the second camp from 21 to 24 May. |
