The SKW Old Boys missed the finals by one point in the world’s biggest Old Boys Tournament: What a Tournament it was. 152 Teams entered the world’s biggest Old Boys Tour-nament which was played in the Vogtland (Germany). The different categories were over 35 and over 50 years of age. Big names were participating, like the FC Bayern München Old Boys who entered the over 50 category. German chancellor Angela Merkel was the official patron of the spectacular event. The SKW Old Boys entered the over 35 category which was played in four groups of 7 teams each.
While only the first placed teams entered the semi finals it was a single point that was missing to see the SKW
going through to the last four. SKW kept Namibia’s flag high and brought the country closer to a lot of people. Namibia was named separatly in the official booklet, while The Namibian Flag was brought down by  ski-jumpers
from the Vogtland ski arena.
Before the tournament the SKW Team had a practice week in Munich at the former club of German National player Thomas Hitzelberger in Forstinning, while after the tournament the team went onto a cycle tour through Hungary.
In November the European Oldie Football Team will visit Namibia to play the local green and whites of Olympia.
The special invitation came trough connections of SKW headcoach Richard Stake who visits the International Trainers Assosiation every year. While in Germany the SKW received the news that Sandra Starke is considered in the last 40
of the German Woman Soccer squad who will participate at the 2010 worldcup. Starkes son Manfred got a 1 year Bundesleague contract at Hansa Rostock for the upcoming season.
