Shiyuka bidding farewell

The Independence Stadium will be a hive of activities on Saturday when the Legends from South Africa and Namibia will lock horns in the Amos Shiyuka testimonial match. The hard tackling defender of Covics who played for and captained all the Namibian national youth teams and joined the Brave Warriors will hang up his boots. The Shiyuka Invitation Eleven includes the likes of Ricardo Manetti, Forresta Nicodemus, Kongo Hindjou and Tiger Goagoseb, Frank Fredericks and Lolo Goraseb, Gerros Witbeen, Ronny Kanalelo and Collin Benjamin.  According to Amos at a media briefing on Tuesday he asked the public  to join him in the stadium in big numbers for this energy sapping and mouthwatering, entertaining encounter between the two legendary teams of neighbouring countries. The curtain raiser game between Civics U/17 and African Stars U/17 will start at 13h00, while the main encounter  will start at 16h00.
The South African legends include Doctor Khumalo, Phillemon Masinga, Lukas Radebe, Mark Fish, John Shoes Moeshoeu, Jabu Bule,  Benedict Villakazi, Hrermam Mkhelele and David Nyati.  The money from entrances will be donated to charity organisations. A Gala Dinner will be held on Friday night where jerseys of the players will be autographed and sold.. On Friday both teams will visit the Katutura Cancer Ward and the Old Age home and in the afternoon coaching clinics will be conducted by the legends.
After the match, local artists like Gazza and The Dog as well as Ongoro Numundu  will entertain the fans till late. Shiyuka thanked the following sponsors who made the event a reality: NBL, MTC, FNB, One Africa TC, Total Namibia, OTB, Street House, Imperial Car Hire, and Windhoek Country Club
