Thursday 5th of July 2007 In the second stanza David Nyate, who captained the South African team, leveled matters. He shot past the Namibian goalkeeper Danzyl Bruwer, who had really no chance to stop thast ball. Within five minutes after the draw, Frank fredericks, the Namibian sprinter received the ball in the middle of the park , ran his way to the box and shot the ball past the William Okpara. Thanks to this very explosive individual play by Fredericks it was 2:1 in favour of the Namibians.The South African equalizer was scored through a penalty, which was converted by Bashin Mahlangu. Matters were level again at 2:2. The man for whom this testimonial was played, Amos Shiyuka (Civics) honoured himself by playing brilliant football , hard tackling , controlling the ball and giving visionary passes . The second stanza was dominated by the South African legends in terms of possession and territory as they were hungry for more goals. David Nyati scored his second goal in the last ten minutes of the game to secure a win for his team. The boy for whom the testimonial match was organised: No 17, Amos Shiyuka, in action. |
