as British High Commissioner bids farewell
The British High Commission, Mr Alistair McDermott this week bid farewell after his 5 year duty in Namibia. Mr McDermott was a good friend of the NAU and often addressed matters of the NAU on diplomatic level.
An announcement which Mr McDermott made and which is of special interest for the NAU, is that Mrs Gilly Stommel of the Otjikondo FA will meet Queen Elizabeth II in due course in order to receive the MBE award (Member of the British Empire). She will be accompanied by her husband, Mr Stommel. This exceptional honour which will be awarded by the Queen to Mrs Stommel follows her activities for the community of Otjikonto. The NAU would like to congratulate Mrs Stommel with this exceptional achievement and also Mr McDermott who has facilitated this meeting.
