Final spurt for the 5. Klippenberg Arts & Craft Festival

The Klippenberg Festival on 28 July will be accessible, busses driving to Karibib for free
(ipo) Karibib. Preparations for the Klippenberg Arts & Craft Festival 2007 in Karibib are gathering momentum. On Saturday, 28 July, national and international artists, musicians and performers will meet in the grounds of the Klippenberg Country Club to provide a full programme of entertainment for all age groups.
Fashion shows, poetry, drama groups, Namibian and Chinese dance- and music groups, pop- and rock music, a colourful children’s programme, Trio Feminale as well as Deon the Diva, promises to be a good entertainment. Painters and sculptors, crafters and housewives will be selling art and much more. Stalls providing food and drinks will be available, as well as a beer tent. In the evening you can dance the night away with the Namibian Kwaito musician, Gazza, along with Relic, Bullet, and Leon Marais and Leon Jacobs.

A raffle promises some exciting prizes, such as hotel and restaurant vouchers, furniture and clothing vouchers, as well as gold jewellary from Navachab Gold Mine. Sponsors from the whole of Namibia, including AngloGold Ashanti, FNB, Gourmet Restaurant Windhoek, The Swakop-mund Hotel and Entertainment Centre, Hansa Hotel and Young Ones, Rockwater Consultings, Woermann Broeck Hardware Swakopmund, Corner Stone Academy and OK Mini Mark, as well as other businesses in Karibib, Namibia Breweries, the German Embassy in Windhoek and many more have made provision for a successful Festival. Posters and flyers for the Klippenberg Arts & Craft Festival have been sponsored and organized by well-known Windhoek graphic artist, Andrew Weird. All sponsors are mentioned on the Festival website so that they may attain both national and international recognition. The Festival is still looking for a sponsor for the prizes of the “Create a Logo for Klippenberg Festival” competition.
The logo competition, with partici-pation from national and international artists and graphic designers, will be judged and the results will be made public during the Festival.
On 28 July, Sunshine Tours will provide free transport to the Festival in Karibib: from Swakopmund (leaving 07h00 from the Hotel and Enter-tainment Centre) and Windhoek (leaving 07h00 from the parking lot opposite the Kalahari Sands Hotel). Artists and visitors are welcome to use this service, departure from Karibib for the return trip is at 24h00. It is not necessary to book your seat on the bus, however it is recom-mended.  Let’s journey to Karibib where there is something happening!
