Within the framework of its micro-project programme the German Embassy has supported the National Early Childhood Development NGO Association with the total amount of N$78 400.- for a theme education project for pre-scholars.
This amount also covers the cost of a 12-metre container in which the library will be housed. The educational material will be made available in theme boxes. ECD care
givers at home-based facilities will be provided with these theme boxes by the library of the Oponganda Community Centre in Windhoek. Teaching material such as lesson plans, songs, stories, rhymes and worksheets which can be adapted and copied will also be included in the boxes.
The aim of the project is the support of activities addressed at the physical, emotional, social, moral and intellectual development of young children.
