“Biodiversity issues of farming under investigation by the Agriculture Department of the Polytechnic of Namibia”
A study of the causes and consequences of fence-line contrasts in rangeland identified some biodiversity issues that are now being studied. Some students examine eco-friendly control of ticks and internal parasites as alternatives to chemical pesticides that threaten tick-feeding birds and dung beetles. Others examine methods of rangeland management such as control of water erosion, the application of patch burning, and strategic trampling to conserve soil moisture.
