The Cazadores Inline Hockey Club will be hosting its Annual Hockey Tournament from Friday, 14th until Sunday 16th September 2007, which will take place on the sports field of the DHPS in Churchstreet, Windhoek.
Inline Hockey is a fast growing sport in Namibia. Currently there are three clubs in Windhoek, one in Swakopmund and one in Otjiwarongo. Countrywide there are about 500 active players. Inline Hockey is a very fast game and requires a lot of skills. Cazadores currently has about 120 members ranging from age groups “Under 8” up to “Masters”. There even is a group of social players (over the age of 30 years) who have taken up this fast sport.
Although Namibia Inline Hockey players have participated in the IIHF World Championships for three years in a row one of the mayor challenges is attending competitions on a regular basis.
Fascinating speed and perseverance can be seen by the young competitors as they will battle out not only the ranking for this tournament but the annual ranking for the season 2007.
The Cazadores InLine Hockey club committee has worked around the clock to make this annual event worth while. From morning tea/coffee up to evening dinner good food will be provided throughout the day.
The annual InLine Hockey Tournaments provide an opportunity to catch up with friends from Otjiwarongo and Swakopmund coming to participate in Windhoek
