PM Nahas Angula, Patron for Toy-Run Friday 14th of September 2007 On the 10 September the Lions Clubs of Windhoek presented The Right Honourable Prime Minister Nahas Angula with a certificate as the Patron of the Namibian Toy Run. The Prime Minister supported the event last year and challenged participants to continue with the good work. The 2nd Namibian Toy Run will take place on the 10 November in Windhoek, as a joint effort between bikers and Lions Club International. This is a major event and it is not only for bikers, but for the public at large to attend and the “entrance fee” will be toys, shoes or school cloths for the less privileged children in our communities. The bikers from various Clubs will parade their colours through the streets of Windhoek and end their parade at the parking lot opposite the Kalahari Sands Hotel, where entertainment and refreshments will be laid on by the three Lions Clubs of Windhoek. Shoprite/Checkers has been kind enough to be our main sponsor of the event again this year. This is a fun filled event for young and old and the proceeds and toys collected will be distributed to the needy children in Namibia. Have a heart and support this function and bring joy to the lives of our children.
