New Black Belts for Goju Ryu Karate

The annual Black Belt Grading of Goju Ryu Karate was held on 22 September 2007 in Windhoek.  5 Students tested for Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) and 1 tested for Nidan (2nd Dan Black Belt ) in front of a panel headed by Sensei Bakkies Laubscher, 8th  Dan Black Belt, Chief Instructor of the I.O.G.K.F for Africa.  Sensei Bakkies Laubscher expressed his satisfaction with the standard of the Namibian Black Belts that compares well with any grading that he performs around the world.
The students had to attend an 8 hour Gasshuku (training camp/seminar) before the grading, they had to pass a 2 hour physical test and also had to pass a written examination to test their knowledge about the history as well as technical aspects of Goju Ryu Karate.

Tegan Sham– Shodan (Walvis Bay)
Sven Hart– Shodan
Fritz Venzke – Shodan
Onno Amutenya– Shodan
Roché Louw  – Shodan (Walvis Bay)
Jürgen van Wyk – Nidan (2nd Dan)
