Our jackpot this evening is a whooping N$ 1.200 for the “19h00” draw and N$ 300 for the eight o’ clock draw. Our second draw of the season will take place now on Friday 19 October 2007 and not 12 October 2007 as previously announced. Please advise Harald Preschel (Tel. 227700) if you will attend or not.
BASSMASTERS
Our chapter leader Max Pieper reports that the Ramblers Bassmasters took the first four places at the competition held a fortnight ago at the von Bach Dam. Reinhardt Laggner claimed the first place followed by Herman Reinders, Kai Schneider and Anton Halgreen in fourth place out of a total of 18 competitors. Well done, anglers and good luck with the last competition to be held on 13 October 2007.
OLD BOYS
Ramblers Old Boys travel this week-end to Swakopmund and participate at the annual Horsti Pietzsch Cup. Particpating teams will be this years host Swakopmund Football Club,Atlantis from Walvis Bay and the three teams from the capital, i.e. DTS, SKW and Ramblers. We wish our team all the best in their endeavour to defend their title, but most of all, a save journey to the coast and back. Good luck.
PREMIER LEAGUE
Our Premier League started their campaign for the season 2007/2008 on high note when they beat newly promoted Fedics by 3 goals to 1 in Keetmanshoop. After trailing 1-0 at halftime, goals scored by Samson John, Pinius Jacobs and Jeremia Baisako changed the picture and we were able to record our first win of the season. This weekend our team has another difficult encounter when we play Blue Waters in Walvis Bay. Good luck to the coaching staff and the team and a save journey.
JUNIOR SOCCER
This weekend a new page will be opened in the history books of Ramblers when for the first time a under 11 and under 13 side of our club will participate in the “Streethouse” Mini-League. The league will be played this coming Saturday and then again on 20 October and 03 November at the Trans Namib Fields. This initiative was started by amongst others Dino Ballotti, Heiko Denker, Butzi Schulze and Uwe Wolff. Good luck to the coaches and the youngsters, and most important, it is not about winning, but participating and having fun.
