BCI remains true to its slogan of Building Construction Innovation with the introduction of a totally new range of concrete products at the Windhoek Show, which the company believes will make inroads into the local construction industry.
Stuart Sisson, Marketing and Sales Manager of Bricks and Concrete Industries, says the unique BCI Prestressed Decking System tops the company’s new product range. Small or large construction companies who need to construct slabs can utilize this easy-to-install system with an approved engineering design.
BCI obtained the expertise from the South African precast slab manufacturers, KBW Precast and DBL Decking, to provide to Namibian customers a proven rib and block slab system. These two companies have manufactured and supplied more than five million m2 of slabs.
According to Mr. Sisson builders would be able to install the decking system without hassles and fast. However, they have to consult an engineer about the required wall loads and stress factors. The system consists of slabs of varying lengths and thickness, which form the framework into which precast blocks are fitted according to the slab thickness. With the required support from below a layer of concrete is then spread on top of the ribbon blocks to complete the deck.
Only the highest quality cement, sand and stone are used in the manufacturing of blocks and ribs while prestressing wire is used in the ribs, all according to SABS specifications. BCI staff undertakes quality controls on the blocks and concrete supplies on a daily basis.
BCI constructed a building structure at its show stand specially to demonstrate how the decking system is applied. Customers and visitors can also view the various other new products at the stand, where company’s sales people can provide more information and hand out product information pamphlets.
The company is also proud to introduce another innovation, BCI Retainer Blocks, which are easily applied to construct retainer walls. These blocks are available in two colours to add some variation to the appearance of retainer walls.
An exciting new range of interlocks and pavers are also on offer. This includes CrasE Classic Cobble, CrasE G Bloks as well as Rossway Rock, ideal for parking areas, driveways and gardens. They are complimented by BCI’s existing range of pavers in different colours (squares, slabs and rectangulars) as well as cobbles (squares and wedges).
Mr. Sisson emphasised that BCI goes to great lengths to stay abreast of the latest technology in the industry to supply better services and products faster. “We as the market leaders understand that the customer determine our success. BCI would like to exceed customers expectations every time by adding value to our services and products. Also, we don’t procrastinate with customers’ requests, quotations and the delivery of orders.”
He invites members of the construction industry, architects, engineers as well home owners to visit BCI at the Windhoek Show or to contact its sales people by phone for quick assistance.
