Friday 12th of October 2007 VIP CLUB back The “19h00” jackpot is standing at N$ 1.300 while the “20h00” jackpot has N$ 400 in the draw. Our second draw of the season will take place now on Friday 19 October 2007 and on the menu is a delicious “Gyros with Tzatziki sauce” and salad. Please advise Harald Preschel (Tel. 227700) if you will attend or not. OLD BOYS Ramblers Old Boys won their last Old Boys league match against SKW 2-0. Goal scorers were Raymond Botes and Lorenz von Somnitz. OTB Sport Ramblers were held to a one-all draw in their last match versus DTS. Ramblers ended on top of the log with 24 points from 10 matches, followed by Epukiro Old Boys with 19 points and SKW with 17 points in third place. A big “Thank you” to Gunter Penzhorn for this year’s organization of the league as well as Richard Starke from “Starke Air Conditioning & Manufacturing”, who sponsors the league since 2001. The cherry on the cake for the success story of the Old Boys in 2007 was the victory in the Horsti Pietsch Cup last weekend in Swakopmund. After winning Saturday’s two matches both 4-1 against Atlantis and DTS respec-tively, we won on Sunday against SFC 4-0 and played to a goalless draw against SKW. Our goals were scored by Raymond Botes (6), Lorenz von Somnitz (2) and Kilian Kavari, Mario Reiter, our guest player Jose “Jupp” Martinez from Cologne and an own goal. We wish Lorenz, who broke his nose in the second match, a speedy recovery. Our congratulations to coach Richard Wahl and the team, well done, guys! PREMIER LEAGUE Our Premier League side has their best start ever since 2001 when they won their second away match 2-1 against Blue Waters in Walvis Bay. After trailing 1-0 midway in the first half, our skipper Michael Pienaar equalized after 30 minutes. The winning goal was scored by Pinius Jacobs with a well taken shot into the top corner. Ramblers are leading the log with 6 points and will face African Stars tonight at 19h00 in a match in the Independence Stadium. Good luck to the coaching staff and the whole team for this important encounter. JUNIOR SOCCER The “Streethouse” League kicked off last week and our under 11 won 2-1 against SKW (B) and lost with the same result against NYDP (Namibia Youth Development Program). Our under 13 side played their first match against SKW and lost by 4 goals to nil. We are happy that this project has a successful start. This coming Saturday at 09h00 we will have a practice session and the next round is on Saturday 27 October 2007. |
