Midgard Lodge is all set and ready for its first international horse show and auction for the weekend of 26 and 27 July. From next Tuesday, 22 July, interested buyers can admire and ride the 13 auction horses up for sale. The high-class event has drawn a lot of interest from local equestrian circles and in South Africa. Air Namibia if offering special weekend packages from Johannesburg, including transfers to the resort from the Hosea Kutako International Airport.

The horse show will kick off with a scrumptious barbecue on Saturday late afternoon in the Bali Boma, followed by a glittering night show of the 13 stud horses in the amphitheatre. The gala evening will then continue with a dance and a video show of the

Horse presentation. On Sunday, 27 July, there is a hearty breakfast awaiting all horse lovers and by 11h00, the auction will commence, followed by a brunch buffet. Namibians who want to overnight at Midgard or intend to drive out the Sunday morning for the auction should book early, if they intend having meals at Midgard that weekend.

"The horses offered for sale from other studs in Namibia like Claratal or Davetsaub are all at Midgard already. They get shoed and groomed to look their best for the big event" said Andrea Radke, stud manager. The horse auction will become an annual event in future.
