Moving up and about within Legacy Group Wednesday 23rd of July 2008 “Working for a hotel group such as Legacy is an absolute pleasure and I am privileged to have been offered this job opportunity in Swakopmund,” says Rene Garny, new Resident Manager at the Swakop-mund Hotel and Enter-tainment Centre as of 1 May 2008. back Rene has been with the Legacy Group since March 2005 when he joined the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino as the Senior Assistant F&B Manager. He was then given the opportunity and a promotion to transfer to Swakopmund in May this year and grabbed this wholeheartedly. When asked what keeps him going Rene said, that the challen-ges and opportunities which Legacy offers to become more qualified and successful hoteliers makes it worthwhile every day. “Some of the highlights of my career include the fact that I was given the opportunity and most of all the privilege to study and work on three different continents with a diversity of cultures and standards. This has giving me as Hotelier a priceless expe-rience.” Being the Resident Mana-ger means filling the shoes of a Deputy General Manager, thereby assisting the General Manager in the running & controlling of the operations of the hotel and looking after the overall wellbeing of the guests and staff members. Rene has many ambitions including that of becoming one of Legacy’s General Managers and he is out to prove that Namibians are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to skills and service standards in the hotel industry. For guests it is definitely worth the time, money and effort to experience any of the Legacy properties, while it is a pleasure and privilege for staff members to work here.” |
