MISA Namibia announces new Board 2008

The Namibian Chapter of the Media Institute of Southern Africa, MISA Namibia, is happy to announce its new National Governing Council for the year 2008. Elections took place last week Friday at the organization’s Annual General Meeting held in Windhoek at the Thüringer Hof hotel.
Outgoing Chairperson, Christof Maletsky, at the occasion noted that to ensure continuity, he would be available to give advice on an ex-officio basis. He thanked the staff at MISA Namibia, headed by National Director in Mathew Haikali, as well as those at the regional secretariat under the lea-dership of Regional Direc-tor Kaitira Kandjii for the cooperation he got from them over the past two years.
The new Board members are: Frederico Links: Supplement Editor of the Namibian (1st year of Office, additional member) Gladwin Groenewaldt: Ministry of Youth, National Youth Services, Sports and Culture - This is his 1st term as Vice Chairperson and 2nd year in the National Governing Council. Sandra Williams: Station Manager at KCR (Katutura Community Radio) - It is her 1st term as Chairperson and her second year in the National Governing Council.
Jata Kazondu, Nampa journalist (1st year of office, additional member)
Florence Haifene: Manager: Radio Damara/Nama (NBC) - (1st year of Office - Treasurer)
