Saturday 23rd of August 2003 On Saturday, 20 September, the Namibian Junior Chess Championships will start at the St Andrews Primary School, Khomasdal (between Fargo and Chrysler Street). Three players of each High School are invited to take part. Primary schools will send the learners who qualified on 4 July plus three players per school. the overall player (junior champion 2003) will play out against the champion of 2004 to be a candidate for the World Chess Olympiad in Mallorca (Spain)2004. A total of 20 chess sets for runners-up and 30 chess sets as random prizes will be handed out. The organiser and tournament director, Helmuth Leicher, is exspecting the lists of participants (name, grade, age) by Friday, 12 September. |
