The first ever international conference on wind energy will be held in Namibia next week on Thursday, 13 March. It is hosted by the ministry of mines and energy. About 30 delegates from Norway, Denmark, South Africa and Namibia will discuss experiences in wind energy and challenges faced by this energy sector. Featuring prominently during the deliberations will be the proposed wind park near Lüderitzbucht. A further purpose of this seminar is the drafting of a "wind power action plan" and to prepare for the big world energy conference in Cape Town, South Africa from 23 to 26 November 2003.
