Friday 10th of October 2003 Namibia’s own Airliner Air Namibia has become one of the main sponsors over the past three years who, with their enormous contribution, make this Moto Cross event possible. Four years ago Acting Senior Manager Marketing & Business Development, Corne de Waal, monitored the activities of the Windhoek Moto Cross Club. He saw all the articles published by the Namibia print-media and by pure accident he found some articles towards the Inter-Series in web-pages throughout the world. He learnt that this Inter-Series is the biggest Moto Cross event on the African continent and sixth month later the WMCC became a partner of Air Namibia. Today 3 years later Air Namibia provides and organises the whole logistics for 35 riders, bikes, mechanics plus a group of journalists, including a TV-Crew of the famous DSF-Channel in Germany. But the assistance goes even further, some riders will wear the Air Namibia colors, riders like 3-times Open Namibian Champion Markus Volz from Germany, Europes hottest contender Collin Dugmore, future worldchampion Tyla Rattray (he finished 6th overall in the 2003 Worldchampionships 125cc), America’s 4-Stroke ace Carter Gurnee and Europes Freestyle-Star Kevin Burcklen from France. The Sponsorship was officially handed over at the Hosea Kutako Airport by Ellison K. Hijarunguru, Manager Public Relations & Advertising. Mr Hijarunguro confirmed at the meeting that Air Namibia is very happy with this long partnership and proudly he led the small group of representatives of the Windhoek Moto Cross Club, through the VIP Lounge at the Airport, he explained the advantages of flying Business Class and showed the group around in a Boing 747. He went that extra mile to convince the people present, why one should fly Air Namibia. Mr Hijarunguru is a strong communicator and knows his business. Air Namibia First Class World Class! |
