On the 6th October sixteen volunteers from the Peace Corps were introduced to the basics of chess at a lecture held at Heja Lodge near Windhoek. This knowledge will now be passed on to scholars at the various institutions were the volunteers are working.

On Sunday the 12th October at 16h50 an eight-minute video will be televised on NBC presenting the recently held finals of the Standard Bank Junior Chess championships.
